The Glimpse Privacy Pledge
We believe your memories belong solely to you. All neural AI indexing, vector embeddings, and search matching happen strictly on your iPhone hardware using Apple CoreML. We do not operate photo processing servers. You can turn on Airplane Mode and Glimpse works with 100% functionality.
No Photos Ever Stored or Uploaded
When you grant Glimpse permission to access your photo library:
- Local Read-Only Access: The app reads images locally to generate mathematical vector representations (embeddings) via the on-device Apple Neural Engine.
- Zero External Uploads: Photos, thumbnails, filenames, timestamps, and GPS coordinates never leave your physical device.
- No Cloud Storage: We do not run servers or cloud buckets to ingest or store your images.
- No Model Training: Your private images are never used to train, fine-tune, or validate any machine learning models.
Pro System Verification & What We Store
To provide optional Glimpse Pro subscriptions and Lifetime Licenses, we create an account strictly to verify your purchase and prevent software piracy. Here is the complete list of what our backend stores:

- Account identifier / email address (or Apple ID relay)
- Apple App Store transaction receipt token
- Last login timestamp: Only used to verify active license status and prevent simultaneous unauthorized device sharing
âś— What We NEVER Store
- No photos or visual media
- No search queries or search history
- No photo titles, tags, or EXIF metadata
- No location tracking or GPS logs
- No credit card or payment information (handled by Apple)
Your Search Queries Stay on Your Phone
When you type a query such as “receipt from plumber” or “golden retriever puppy at sunset”, the text is tokenized and converted into an embedding directly on your device. The cosine similarity matching is executed against your local vector database on iOS. Neither your search terms nor your results are transmitted to our servers or any third-party analytics provider.
No Ads & No Cross-App Tracking
Glimpse does not include advertising networks, data brokers, or cross-app tracking SDKs (like Facebook Pixel or Google Ads). We do not monetize your attention or sell your data. Our sole business model is selling subscriptions and lifetime licenses for our photo search software.
Data Retention & Deletion
Because all indexed data resides on your iPhone, deleting the Glimpse application immediately and permanently wipes all local index databases and embeddings from your device.
If you created an account for Glimpse Pro verification, you may request complete deletion of your account record and last login timestamp at any time by contacting us at support@glimpsephotos.com or via our Contact Page. We will process your deletion request within 14 business days.
